Built for Irish home educators

NCCA Curriculum Mapping
Every activity is tagged to the NCCA primary curriculum strands and JCSP outcomes. Your children learn through doing — The Hedge tracks the curriculum automatically in the background.
AEARS-Compliant Learning Logs
The Tusla Assessment and Evaluation of a Child's Education in a Re-enrolment Setting (AEARS) process requires evidence of learning. The Hedge auto-generates date-stamped, curriculum-tagged records of everything your child does.
PDF Report Export
Generate a formatted PDF learning report at any time — covering any date range, any subject areas, any children. Exactly what assessors want to see, with one click.
Weekly Curriculum Planner
Plan your week across all NCCA subject areas. The Hedge suggests activities that fit your plan, balances subjects automatically, and flags any areas that haven't been covered recently.
Multi-Child Management
Running a household school? Manage each child's curriculum, interests, and learning records completely separately — or together, for activities that work across ages.
IEP Support Tools
For children with additional learning needs, The Hedge supports Individual Education Plan (IEP) goal setting, tracking, and evidence gathering alongside the main curriculum.

Irish homeschoolers love it

The AEARS reports used to take me the whole of August. Now I generate them in 90 seconds. It has genuinely transformed how I feel about the annual assessment process.

I was nervous about homeschooling. The Hedge gave me confidence that we were covering what we needed to cover — without turning every day into a formal lesson.

The curriculum mapping showed me we'd done more science in a month of real-life activities than my daughter's previous school year. That was the moment I knew we were doing the right thing.

Answers for home educators

The Hedge is not an official Tusla product, but the learning logs it generates are designed to meet the evidencing requirements of the Tusla AEARS process. Many of our Educator families have used The Hedge's PDF reports in their AEARS submissions.
The primary NCCA curriculum (Junior Infants to 6th Class) is fully mapped. We also have coverage of the Junior Cycle Framework (1st–3rd Year) and are working on Senior Cycle integration.
The Hedge works for all home-educating families, whether you are registered under Section 14 of the Education (Welfare) Act 2000 or educating under Section 9. Our tools support both formal AEARS assessments and informal learning record keeping.
The Hedge is a supplement and planning tool, not a standalone curriculum provider. It works beautifully alongside structured programmes like Classical Conversations, Charlotte Mason, or your own bespoke approach.
